In just a few months, we were able to get our dream home custom built in an ideal location for a good bit less than a comparable resale home. They have lasting relationships with their subcontractors and financing folks and were very responsive to our many questions and concerns. Finally, no construction loan! I have been working in the real estate industry for nearly 30 years, and deal with builders, contractors and developers on a regular basis. I have found Barry and Eva Andrews of Barry Andrews Homes to be honest and trustworthy in my dealings with them. In my experience, they honor their commitments, build a quality home and treat the customer with fairness and respect.
When we purchased from Barry Andrews Homes, it was a wonderful experience. My husband and I had sold our home in two days and needed to make a decision on what to buy quickly. At first we thought we would buy a pre-existing home but after visiting many, we couldn’t find the right one. At that time we went to the Barry Andrews Homes model to see what they had to offer. We had been to many other builders and knew what the standards were and what we could get from purchasing a base model with only a few options. When we finished picking out the few items we wanted with the competitors there really wasn’t much to the home except the basics. After our visit with Barry and Eve’s company we were able to get the options we wanted but weren’t expecting to be able to afford. All of the items that we would normally have to option ‘out’ were included as standard it gave us a chance to finish the home and make it ‘ours’.
The only item we had to worry about once we choose our home was how to convince our 5 year old son that it was great place to live. He had informed us that even though our present home had sold he was just going to continue to live there and we could move into the new home. He didn’t want any part of the new one. Well, except visiting the models which Ms. Eve would have cookies and a hug waiting for him each time we stopped by. The way to a young boy’s heart is through cookies.
Still concerned, I happened to mention it to Barry when we saw him walking the lots and knew he had children and could appreciate the story. He immediately said I will meet you here next week and bring him with you and I promise when we are finished our tour he was want to live here. So we did as he asked and met him there on a quiet morning where he had a hard hat and tool belt waiting for our son. He spent an hour with him and us in tow showing him everything about the house. He also told him how he personally walked ours (along with all of the others) each day to make sure it was built the way we wanted it. When he finished our little man was ready to sign the on dotted line. He was amazed that “Mr. Barry” checked his home every day to make sure it was perfect. As we drove away, he sat very quiet in his car seat and said with a very serious voice “Wow, Mr. Barry and Mrs. Eve really cares about us. I’m so glad we are getting this house. I think you made a good choice.”To this day if someone says something about our home, our son regales them with his Ms. Eve and Mr. Barry story and how he couldn’t believe they would take time with children to make even them comfortable.
I can honestly say the entire experience from the contract, thru the selections and on to watching our home come to life was an incredible time in our lives that we will always cherish and remember as a practically stress free event.
